Missing children cases
2 days back one 12 year old girl from Hiranandani school Powai Mumbai went missing and found in VT/CST railway station. His father's post on missing of daughter went viral on Facebook and shared by 10000 people and n number of times on numerous whats app group creating panicky amongst parents having school going children.What should we do and not to do in missing children cases is a question before common man in this regard I have done some brain storming. Will be useful for everyone.
1 First of all report matter to nearest or jurisdiction Police station and disclose everything to Law enforcement about missing children so that Police can find out motive behind missing. If any failure in examination, love or some one has teased child etc. 1098 child line, khoya paya web site for missing children also helpful.
2 Information on friends , relatives also to be disclosed.
3 Any phone calls if parents receive on ransom or extortion share it with Police without delay to work out further strategy
4 Not to make any online payment to any informer without intimation to Police
6 Missing child if having any strong desire or passion which has not yet completed such activity also too be shared with Police
7 Recent chat of missing child if any on social media or sms will helps
8 when was the missing child seen last and with whom by whom also helps to track
9 Once the missing child is found do psycho social trauma counselling through professional counsellor
10 Donot create environment victimise child after recovery specially avoid relatives meeting with child and expressing sympathy

Would like to share two recent stories where we traced missing children by making strenuous efforts
1A. 15 year boy from Osmanabad District preparing for IIT coaching in Hyderabad went missing and found after 4 months in Goa due to his activities tracked by Police on Facebook. He was forced to undergo IIT entrance coaching where as he was having strong desire to become pilot. From Hyderabad he went to Bangalore withdrawn some money from ATM then to Mysore then to Goa where he was working in a hotel. Police of Telangana & Karnatak state were looking for him as his father with his photo was pursuing it . Myself (Sunitha krishnan Founder of prajwala) and IG Hemant Nimbalkar of Karnatak helped father in this case.
2 A. Teenage girl from Pune angry with her mother went missing with 7 lakh cash and finally traced in Solapur. This girl was having strong desire to do fashion technology course and in her net search history she surfing for places like Ahmadabad and Solapur was the clue received. She was my friends cousin sister's daughter. On a call from friend I alerted Ahmadabad and Solapur Police with her photo, phone number details. Also search on train timings to Ahmadabad via Solapur from Pune found in her net history. Addl SP Solapur who underwent She/ Nirbhaya team training under me in Hyderabad used traditional method of Lodges checking with girls photo bear the railway station. Helped in tracing her with new bag, dresses etc ready to leave for Ahmadabad by train that day.
Every missing child have a story. Parents have to understand them and have close dialogue with them in cases they have any emotional issues.
